Replacing FRUs

Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.

Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or surface. Hold the sides of your computer and gently lay it down so that the screen is against the surface and the computer cover is facing up.

Remove the computer stand. For details, see Replacing the computer stand.

Remove the storage drive. For details, see Replacing the 2.5-inch storage drive.

Remove the optical drive. For details, see Replacing the optical drive.

Remove the power button board. For details, see Replacing the power button board.

Remove the memory module. For details, see Replacing the memory module.

Remove the M.2 storage drive. For details, see Replacing the M.2 storage drive.

Remove the Wi-Fi card. For details, see Replacing the Wi-Fi card.

Remove the Wi-Fi antennas. For details, see Replacing the Wi-Fi antennas.

Remove the integrated camera. For details, see Replacing the integrated camera.

Remove the system fan. For details, see Replacing the system fan.

Remove the internal speakers. For details, see Replacing the internal speakers.

Remove the heat sink. For details, see Replacing the heat sink.

Remove the system board. For details, see Replacing the system board.

Remove the integrated microphone. For details, see Replacing the integrated microphone.

Remove the front decorative cover. For details, see Replacing the front decorative cover.

Disconnect the LVDS and LCD backlight cables from the LCD panel.

Connect the LVDS and LCD backlight cables to the new LCD panel.

Reinstall the removed parts and computer cover, and then reconnect the cables. For details, see Completing the parts replacement.
