Access 3D applications for videos, games, and designs, all within Lenovo 3D Studio.

3D Media Player

Lenovo 3D Studio includes a standalone 3D Media Player for playing native 3D films and videos. Start the player from Lenovo 3D Studio, select the media file or enter the URL for the media source, choose the 3D type for the source, and be ready for the visual impact with cars running off the screen towards you.

Media Converter

Most of today’s video sources remain two-dimensional. For these sources, there are no designated right and left frames for 3D display. However, when activating the 2D to 3D conversion feature in Media Converter, the software employs AI technology to modify each frame of a video. It generates artificial left and right images, interweaves them, and directs them to left and right eyes to create a 3D effect.

To enable 3D conversion for a video playback, ensure the playback window is set in full-screen mode, play the video, and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + B to turn on realtime3D conversion.

The keyboard shortcut for turning on 3D conversion can be redefined in the settings page of Media Converter. You can also redefine keyboard shortcuts for enhancing or attenuating 3D effects in the settings page.

Game Engine

Some video games include 3D data with their installation; however, this data must be put into the right hand to be useful. This is where the Game Engine comes into play. For a list of supported games, the Game Engine can leverage the provided 3D data to render game scenes in three dimensions, thereby enhancing the sense of realism.

Open Game Center to view the list of supported games. If a supported game is found to be installed on the PC, its title will be highlighted. Select the title and then select the play button to start the game in 3D mode.

During the game, you can use shortcut keys to adjust the depth value to either enhance or attenuate the 3D effects. The shortcut keys can be re-defined in the settings menu of Game Engine.

Design Engine

Integrates with three mainstream design apps: Maya, Blender, and Sketchup, enabling designers to render models as lifelike, 3D objects, as they’re designing them.

  1. Make sure you have installed one of the supported design apps.
  2. Select the plug-in for your design app to install it. Make sure to install it to the binary folder (bin/) of the design app’s installation folder.

3D Model Viewer

Many individuals and companies today are designing products with CAD software and creating prototypes with 3D printers. If you have a completed 3D model, you can use the Model Viewer in Lenovo 3D Studio to preview it in its real-life form, before sending the model to a 3D printer.

Frequently Asked Questions

One possibility is that the calibration parameter may not be configured to match your pupillary distance. This could be due to either not having set it yet or it being altered by someone else who used your PC. On the home page of Lenovo 3D Studio, select the cubic icon and follow the on-screen instructions to reset the calibration parameter.

One possibility is that the application or the web browser window in which the film is playing is not set to full- screen mode. Set the window to full-screen and re-enable the 2D-to-3D conversion to see if that resolves the issue.

The HSR (HardwareSuper Resolution) feature is currently enabled, which prevents the activation of 3D display mode. You can disable it in the PC's firmware setup utility.

When the 3D display mode is activated, the runtime service of Lenovo 3D Studio uses the PC's camera to capture the positions of your eyes in real time. This positional information will be utilized by 3D applications to deliver a seamless 3D viewing experience.

FAQs

Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off. Then restart the computer.
  1. Carefully unplug the ac power adapter and turn off the computer immediately. The more quickly you stop the current from passing through the computer the more likely you will reduce damage from short circuits.
Although you might lose some data or work by turning off the computer immediately, leaving the computer on might make your computer unusable.
  2. Wait until you are certain that all the liquid is dry before turning on your computer.
Do not try to drain out the liquid by turning over the computer. If your computer has keyboard drainage holes on the bottom, the liquid will be drained out through the holes.

Your computer may have Flip to Start enabled. Many Lenovo notebook computers include a sensor that can detect the angle at which the lid is opened. When you open the lid, the sensor can detect this behavior. If Flip to Start is enabled, the computer will respond by starting up automatically.

If you don’t like this feature, you can disable it. Flip to Start can be enabled and disabled in:

  • Lenovo Vantage or Lenovo PC Manager
  • Firmware Setup Utility

When your PC’s rechargeable battery is set in ship mode, it is disconnected and does not supply power to the PC.

A battery’s ship mode is designed to prevent the battery from over-discharging, a phenomenon that is known to significantly reduce the battery capacity. Over-discharge happens when a lithium battery is at a low charge level for an extended period.

In the real world, it may take a considerable amount of time for the PC to be delivered from the manufacturer to your reseller and then from the reseller to you. The PC’s rechargeable battery is set to ship mode at the factory to prevent over-discharge during this process. Before turning on your PC for the first time, plug your PC into an electrical outlet, and the battery’s ship mode is instantly disabled.
