This document provides important information about application software when you upgrade your computer operating system from Microsoft® Windows Vista® Service Pack 1 (SP1) to Windows® 7. For instructions on upgrading to Windows 7 from Windows Vista, refer to the document Upgrading to Windows 7 from Windows Vista on ThinkPad and Value line Notebook Computers - General.
The following applications either hinder the successful completion of the upgrade process or cause serious compatibility problems after upgrading to Windows 7. Some of them might not be warned to be uninstalled in the early stage of the upgrade process, but they are still required to be uninstalled before upgrading. After upgrading to Windows 7, find either a newer version of an application or an alternative application that supports Windows 7 from the Lenovo® Support Web site at http://www.lenovo.com/support or the Web site of the application vendor.
The following applications are not compatible with Windows 7. It is recommended to uninstall them before upgrading to Windows 7. You can upgrade to Windows 7 without uninstalling these applications, but you might encounter problems when running them on Windows 7. After upgrading to Windows 7, find either a newer version of an application or an alternative application that supports Windows 7 from the Lenovo Support Web site at http://www.lenovo.com/support. You may not see all of these applications listed in your system.
The following applications are not compatible with Windows 7. If you do not uninstall them before upgrading to Windows 7, you might encounter problems when you run them. You can go to the Web site of the corresponding vendor to download the newer version that supports Windows 7 after Windows 7 upgrade is successfully completed.
