Application Software Limitations When Upgrading to Windows 8 on ThinkPad and Lenovo B, E, K, M, and V Series Notebook Computers

This document provides important information about application software when you upgrade your computer operating system from Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 7 to Windows 8. Applications that should be uninstalled before upgrading to Windows 8

The following applications either hinder the successful completion of the upgrade process or cause serious compatibility problems after upgrading to Windows 8. You might not be promoted to uninstall them in the early stage of the upgrade process, but they are still required to be uninstalled before upgrading. After upgrading to Windows 8, find either a latest version of an application or an alternative application that supports Windows 8 from the Lenovo(R) Support Web site at http://www.lenovo.com/support or the Web site of the application vendor.

Applications that are recommended to be uninstalled before upgrading to Windows 8 (Lenovo applications)

The following applications are not compatible with Windows 8. You are recommended to uninstall them before upgrading to Windows 8. You can upgrade to Windows 8 without uninstalling these applications, but you might encounter problems when running them on Windows 8. After upgrading to Windows 8, find either a latest version of an application or an alternative application that supports Windows 8 from the Lenovo Support Web site at http://www.lenovo.com/support. You might not see all of these applications listed on your computer.
