Installation Readme


Introduction
============
This package enables you to configure smart card authentication using Client
Security Solution 8.0 on your Lenovo computer. Smart card authentication is a
convenient and practical alternative to conventional password or fingerprint
authentication policies.

Client Security Solution 8.0 must be installed on your computer before you
install this module.

Please uninstall any previous version of OmniPass/Raak Smart Card package that
you may have on the system before installing this one.

This module must be installed on your computer before you can use smart cards
as an authentication device for Client Security Solution 8.0.

Not all smart cards are supported by Client Security Solution 8.0. A list of
supported smart cards is supplied later on this page.

Refer to the Client Security Solution 8.0 Deployment Guide for more
information.

Suported smart cards types
==========================
Due to configuration requirements, only Softex smart cards are supported by
this middleware. This version supports the following smart cards:

- Gemalto/Axalto Cyblerflex Access eGate 32K (PRO/PKI)
- G&D SmartCafe 64K (PRO/PKI)
- OmniPass 72K (PRO/PKI)
- JCOP 72K (PRO/PKI)


Downloading the package
=======================
1. Click the file links to download the files from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the
   downloaded files.


Installing the package
======================

Under Windows Vista
-------------------
1. Click Start, then click Start Search.
2. Type opcssmid_2_03_0103.exe in the search field, then click Search Everywhere.
   This will locate the file you just downloaded.
3. Double-click the opcssmid_2_03_0103.exe icon. You may see a dialog stating
   "A program needs your permission to continue". If you see this dialog,
   click Continue.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.


Under Windows XP
----------------
1. Click Start, select Search, then click All files and folders.
2. Type opcssmid_2_03_0103.exe in the search field, then click Search.
   This will locate the file you just downloaded.
3. Double-click the opcssmid_2_03_0103.exe icon.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.


Under Windows 2000
------------------
1. Click Start, select Find, then click Files and folders.
2. Type opcssmid_2_03_0103.exe in the search field, then click Find Now.
   This will locate the file you just downloaded.
3. Double-click the opcssmid_2_03_0103.exe icon.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.


Considerations
==============
- This version will not upgrade a system that has 2.1.8 software. You must
  uninstall the older version to install this version.
- You may encounter a random “Device Write Error” when writing to the Smart
  Card using the PKCS11 interface. A card removal/reinsertion will fix this
  problem.
- If another version of the middleware that has a higher version number
  (e.g. 2.03.0104) is already installed, this version will not install on
  top of it. You must remove the installed version first.
