Go to the Web site at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do, and search for a version of Firmware Updater that you need. 2. Download the Firmware Updater ISO image file. Then, burn the ISO image file to a CD or a DVD. 3. Insert the CD or DVD into the CD or DVD drive of the server to be updated. Firmware Updater will start automatically. Note: Before inserting the CD or DVD, make sure that you have changed the boot sequence to booting from the CD or DVD drive in the BIOS. 4. A list of available firmware updates is displayed. Press A, and the updates installation process starts. Notes: 1. During the updates installation process, if a later or same version of the firmware exists on your computer, then a warning message will be displayed to remind you whether to change it to the version on the CD or DVD. 2. After successfully updating the BMC firmware, remember to turn off the computer, and unplug the ac adapter. Wait for almost 10 seconds. Then re-plug the ac adapter and turn on your computer. 5. When the updates installation process completes, an update result list is displayed. You can view the installation status from it. 6. Press Esc to exit the program. Depending on the different types of firmware updates you install, you are prompted to restart the computer. 7. When all firmware has been updated, remove the CD or DVD from the CD or DVD drive and restart the server to verify that it starts normally. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Limitations and considerations ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The server sometimes can not start the master application in media when you use some USB CD or DVD drives.
