Flash BIOS update - Flash from Operating System version for ThinkCentre M57, M57p Version 2RKT60A Installation README This package updates the basic input/output system (BIOS) on ThinkCentre M57 (type 6008, 6010, 6019, 6062, 6065, 6066, 6068, 6069, 6071, 6072, 6074, 6075, 6076, 6077, 6079, 6081, 6082, 6086, 6087, 6089, 9172, 9174, 9181, 9182) and M57p (type 6064, 6067, 6073, 6078, 6088, 9011, 9012, 9013, 9014, 9018, 9019, 9071, 9087, 9088, 9089, 9096, 9160, 9162, 9164, 9163, 9193, 9194, 9196, 9303) systems. BIOS is programming that controls low-level hardware operations, including interactions with diskette drives, hard disk drives, and the keyboard. The BIOS is stored on a chip. Your computer uses flash BIOS, which can be updated through a program on a flash diskette so that you do not have to replace the BIOS chip to update the BIOS. Note: Make note of any settings you have changed in the BIOS Configuration Utility. These settings may have to be re-entered after updating the BIOS. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Downloading the package ======================= 1. Click the file link to download the file from the web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. Extracting the package ====================== 1. Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and Folders. 2. Type 2rjy60usa.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the file you just downloaded. 3. Double-click the 2rjy60usa.exe icon. 4. Read the license agreement 5. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 6. Click Next. 7. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\LenovoTOOLS\FLASH\2RJY60USA. 8. Click Next. 9. Click Finish. Installing the package ====================== 1. Close all open applications. 2. Click Start, then click Run. 3. Type C:\LenovoTOOLS\FLASH\2RJY60USA\WINPHLASH.EXE. 4. Click OK. 5. Select Backup BIOS and Flash BIOS with new settings. 6. Click Flash BIOS. You will told to save your work and close all other applications. 7. Click OK. Your system will automatically shutdown and restart so that the changes will take effect.
