Version 1.02 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES This patch is designed to detect password-protected secondary hard disk after resume/wake from sleep/hibernate. Password-protected secondary hard disk is not shown in My Computer but can be seen in Device Manager the first time it is attached to the computer. This is by-design. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. How to apply this patch: 1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, select All Programs, then select Accessories. 3. Right-click on Command Prompt, then select Open as Administrator. 4. At the command prompt, type the following and press the Enter key to create the task by importing the XML file into Task Scheduler. schtasks /create /xml c:\swtools\osfixes\diskupdt\DiskUpdate.xml /tn DiskUpdate or Start DiskUpdate.BAT Note: This command must be run only when task scheduler service is already running. 5. Restart the computer. The task must be seen in the Task Scheduler. How to disable this patch: 1. Open Task Scheduler. 2. Double click DiskUpdate listed on the Active Tasks list. 3. Right click on DiskUpdate and click Delete. 4.
