WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

  This package installs the software (SmartCard reader driver) to enable the
  following device.

  - Lenovo Integrated Smart Card Reader

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support which
  devices.

  This package also adds additional tabs to Device Manager.

  If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this
  package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted
  below.

  This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

  1. Start Windows.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel and open System. Then go to the Hardware
     tab and select Device Manager.
  3. Double-click on "Smart Card Readers" group.
  4. Double-click on "Integrated Smart Card Reader".
  5. Select the Driver tab.
  6. Check that the "Driver version" matches the one for this file.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Note:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update
  the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the
  Version Information section.


Manual Install

  1. Start Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and log on with the user ID
     authorized as an administrator.
  2. Click "Start", click "Control Panel", open "System", and click "Device
     Manager".
  3. Double-click on "Smart Card Readers" group to expand the category.
  4. Double-click on "USB Smart Card Reader" (Windows In-Box driver) or
     "Integrated Smart Card Reader" (Lenovo driver), then go to "Driver" tab and
     select "Update Driver Software...".
  5. "Hardware Update Wizard" appears then select "No, not this time" and click
     "Next".
  6. Choose "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click
     "Next".
  7. Choose "Search for the best driver in these locations.".
  8. Confirm "Include this location in the search" checkbox is selected then
     click "Browse..." and point to driver location then click "Next".
  9. Click "Continue Anyway" to "The software you are installing for this
     hardware..." when prompted.
 10. Installation will be completed then click "Finish".

UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS


Manual Uninstall

  1. Start Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and log on with the user ID
     authorized as an administrator.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, open System. Then go to the Hardware tab
     and select Device Manager.
  3. Double-click on "Smart Card Readers" group to expand the category.
  4. Double-click on "Integrated Smart Card Reader".
  5. Select the Driver tab.
  6. Click on the <Uninstall> button.
  7. When prompted, confirm the operation by clicking <OK>.
  8. Uninstallation is now finished.


  Check the removal
  1. Start Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, open System. Then go to the Hardware tab
     and select Device Manager.
  3. Either no more "SmartCardReader" group appears. Or if double-click on
     "SmartCardReader" group, verify that no "Integrated Smart Card Reader"
     appears any longer.
