Start the ThinkVantage GPS. The main screen will be displayed. 2. In the Help menu, click About. 3. The version of ThinkVantage GPS will be displayed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES - Update Wireless WAN adapter software for each adapter, as follows. - Ericsson HSDPA Wireless WAN Adapter ==> ThinkPad HSPA Wireless WAN Driver version 1.0.1046.216 or higher. - Qualcomm UNDP Wireless WAN Adapter ==> ThinkPad Wireless WAN (UNDP) Driver version 1.0.8 or higher. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Note: - If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. Manual Install 1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\GPS. 3. Click Start, then click All Programs. 4. [Windows Vista] Click Accessories, then click Run... [Windows XP] Click Start, then click Run... 5. Specify setup_x86.exe or setup_x64.exe with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\GPS\setup_x86.exe (Windows Vista 32-bit/XP) C:\DRIVERS\WIN\GPS\setup_x64.exe (Windows Vista 64-bit) 6. Follow the instructions on the screen. 7. Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation. Unattended Install This is for system administrators' use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute setupGPS.exe. setupGPS.exe checks OS type and automatically can install for any supported Operating Systems in the folder C:\Program Files\Lenovo\GPS Enabler. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Manual Uninstall [Windows Vista] 1. Select Control Panel. 2. Click "Programs and Features". 3. Right-Click "ThinkVantage GPS" and then select "Uninstall" menu. [Windows XP] 1. Select Control Panel. 2. Click "Add or Remove Programs". 3. Note: GPS 1.0 is available for only Sierra Wireless EVDO Network Adapter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REFERENCE INFORMATION - 3rd party GPS application which is launched from GPSE shows a COM port error if other GPSE application is running.
