Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. Make sure View by Category is selected, and click "Uninstall a program". 3. Select Organize, select Layout, then select Details Pane. The Details Pane will be shown at the bottom of screen. 4. Click Ericsson Wireless Module Core. 5. Check the product version in the Details Pane. [Windows XP] 1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Add or Remove Programs. For Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, click Control Panel, and double-click Add or Remove Programs. 2. Click Ericsson Wireless Module Core. 3. Click "Click here for support information". 4. Check the product version. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES - If you use ThinkVantage Access Connections, the following software must be installed. - ThinkVantage Access Connections version 5.32 or higher - ThinkPad Power Management Driver for Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP/Vista version 1.42 or higher - Hotkey Features for Windows Vista/XP/2000 version 2.08.3000 or higher - Before installing this software, you should install Windows Vista fix module KB948278. The detail information and how to obtain the KB948278 module is located in the following Microsoft's site. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948278/en-us To verify if the KB948278 module is installed properly, 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. Find 'Programs and Features' and click. If this option does not exist on the window, choose Classic View to find it. 3. On 'Tasks' pane, click on "View installed updates". 4. Verify that KB948278 is included in the list of installed updates. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Note: - If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. - Be sure to restart the computer after installation. Manual Install This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. Downloading file 1. Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear. 2. Follow the instructions on the screen. 3. In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button. 4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. Extracting file 5. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 6. Locate the folder where the file was downloaded. 7. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it. 8. Follow the instructions on the screen. 9. In the Select Destination Location window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse. 10. In the Ready to Install window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9. 11. Uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to complete extraction. Installing files 12. Locate the folder where the files were extracted in step 10. 13. Double-click the following file. [Windows XP, Vista 32-bit] setup32.exe [Windows Vista 64-bit] setup64.exe 14. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.
