Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support which adapter cards. Start the ThinkVantage GPS. The main screen will be displayed. 2. In the menu bar, click About. 3. The version of ThinkVantage GPS will be displayed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES 1. Update wireless WAN adapter software for each adapter, as follows. - Sierra Wireless EVDO Network Adapter for Verizon/Telus ==> ThinkPad EVDO Wireless WAN driver version 6.30.0.3 or higher. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Notes: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. Manual Install This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer. Downloading files 1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear. 2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the "Save" button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance. 3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. 4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted. Installing 1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\GPS. 3. Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run. 4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\GPS\SETUP.EXE 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Click Finish to reboot the system and complete the installation. Finally delete the file saved in the step 2. Unattended Install This is for system administrators' use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -s option. Start Windows and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator for Windows Vista. 2. Click Start, and select Control Panel. 3. Click Programs. 4. Click Uninstall a program under Programs and Features. 5. Right-click ThinkVantage GPS, then select Uninstall. 6.
