Click System and Maintenance, then click System. 3. From the left pane, click Device Manager. 4. Double-click Network adapters. 5. Double-click Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000. 6. Click the Driver tab. The driver version will be displayed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES - If you use ThinkVantage Access Connections, the following software must be installed. - ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows Vista version 5.32 or higher - Lenovo System Interface Driver for Windows Vista version 1.00.0802 or higher - ThinkPad Power Management Driver for Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP/Vista version 1.51 or higher or ThinkPad Power Management Driver for SL Series version 1.44 or higher - Hotkey Features for Windows Vista/XP/2000 version 2.20.0100 or higher - You may need to re-enter security information after updating the Wireless LAN driver. - Before installing this software, you should install Windows Vista fix module KB932063. The detail information and how to obtain the KB932063 module is located in the following Microsoft's site. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932063/en-us To verify if the KB932063 module is installed properly, 1. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. Find 'Programs and Features' and click. If this option does not exist on the window, choose Classic View to find it. 3. On 'Tasks' pane, click on "View installed updates". 4. Verify that KB932063 is included in the list of installed updates. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Note: - If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. Manual Install This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer. Downloading files 1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear. 2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the "Save" button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance. 3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. 4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted. Extracting files 5. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded. 6. Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left mouse button. 7. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located. Install files 8. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 9. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted. 10. Double-click Autorun.EXE. 11. Follow the instructions on the screen. 12. Restart the computer. Finally delete the file saved in the step 2. Unattended Install This is for system administrators' use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute Autorun.EXE with the /QN option. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANINT\Autorun /QN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Manual Uninstall 1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start and select Control Panel 3. Under Programs, click Uninstall Programs 4. Double-click Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software. 6. Click Next, select Remove, and then follow the instructions. 7. Restart the computer. Manual Unattended Uninstall This is for system administrators' use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute Autorun.EXE with the /QUIET /UNINSTALL option.
