Click Start, then click Control Panel. 2. Click Control Panel Home, then click Programs. 3. Click Programs and Features. 4. Click 'ThinkPad Wireless LAN Adapter Software' to display the Product Version. 5. If you do not see the Product Version, click Organize, Layout and Details Pane. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES - If you use ThinkVantage Access Connections, the following software must be installed. - ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows Vista version 5.30 or higher - Lenovo System Interface Driver for Windows Vista version 1.01.0805 or higher - ThinkPad Power Management Driver for Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP/Vista version 1.53 or higher - Hotkey Features for Windows Vista/XP/2000 version 2.20.0002 or higher - You may need to re-enter security information after updating the Wireless LAN driver. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Note: - If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. Manual Install This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer. Downloading files 1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear. 2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the "Save" button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance. 3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. 4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted. Extracting files 5. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded. 6. Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left mouse button. 7. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located. Install files 8. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 9. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted. 10. Double-click SETUP.EXE. 11. Follow the instructions on the screen. 12. Restart the computer. Finally delete the file saved in the step 2. Unattended Install This is for system administrators' use only. - Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files. - At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -S option. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Click Start, click Control Panel, then click Programs. 3. Under Programs and Features, click Uninstall a program. 5. Right-click 'ThinkPad Wireless LAN Adapter Software' and follow the instructions on the screen. 6.
