  This package installs the software (Conexant Audio Software) to enable the
  following device.

  - Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221
  - Conexant 20561 SmartAudio HD

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support which
  devices.

  If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this
  package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted
  below.

  This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

  1. Start Windows.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and
     Maintenance.
  2. Click System, click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
  3. Click the + sign in front of the Sound, video and game controllers category.
  6. Double-click 'Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221' or 'Conexant 20561
     SmartAudio HD'.
  5. Click the 'Driver' tab. Then you will see the driver version.

NOTES

- To install this package, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and up should be
  installed before installation.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Note:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update
  the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the
  Version Information section.


Manual Install

  1. Start Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and logon with administrative
     privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
     The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO.
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package
     in the step 2, and click OK.
     Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation.


Unattended Install

  This is for system administrators' use only.

  1. Start Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and logon with administrative
     privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
     The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\.
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE -S with the full path name where you extracted the
     package in the step 2, and click OK.
     Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\SETUP -S
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation.
