Revision : 01 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Software Name BIOS Update CD (ISO image file for bootable CD) Support models ThinkPad X200, X200s Operating Systems Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit, 64-bit Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Professional Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support which Operating Systems. Version 2.02 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES This package provides the ISO image file of BIOS which is compatible with CD/DVD/BD writing software to create the CD/DVD/BD for the BIOS update. Hereafter the CD/DVD/BD for the BIOS update is called as "BIOS Update CD". The BIOS Update CD can boot the computer disregarding the operating systems and update the BIOS (including system program and Embedded Controller program) stored in the ThinkPad computer to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below. For that purpose, it is necessary to have the CD/DVD/BD writing software (with CD/DVD/BD creation function from the ISO image file) prepared separately. Also, any one of optical drives that are the USB types or Ultrabay Slim types for ThinkPad UltraBase of CD-RW, CD-RW & DVD Combo, DVD, DVD Multi, BD or others should be prepared. Hereafter it is called as "optical drive". This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHANGES IN THIS RELEASE Version 2.02 [Important updates] Nothing. [New functions or enhancements] - Added PCI Express Power Management disabling capability in BIOS setup. Note: Disabling PCI Express power management may fix troubles on using the PCI Express card, however, reduces battery life by several minutes. [Problem fixes] - If the supervisor password was installed in the computer and when the BIOS update is done on the computer without entering the supervisor password, a 0191 error occurs at boot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED 1.
