WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

  This package installs the Intel SATA controller AHCI Driver to
  enable Intel(R) ICH9M-E SATA AHCI Controller.

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support which

  If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

  1. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Maintenance.
  3. Click System.
  4. Click Device Manager.
  5. Click the + sign in front of the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
     category.
  6. Double-click "Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller".
  7. Click the 'Driver' tab.
     Then you will see the Driver Version.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Note:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update
  the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the
  Version Information section.


Manual Install

  1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
     The default location is C:\DRIVERS\Vista32\IMSM\6AI511WW.
  3. Click Finish to exit setup and start driver installation.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Click Finish and reboot the system to complete the installation.


Unattended Install

  Note: This is for system administrators' use only.

  1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
     The default location is C:\DRIVERS\Vista32\IMSM\6AI511WW.
  3. Uncheck 'Install "Intel(R) SATA controller AHCI driver for Windows
     Vista32" now'.
  4. Click Finish to exit setup.
  5. Click Start, then click All Programs.
  6. Click Accessories, then click Run...
  7. Specify 2KSETUP.EXE 2KSETUP.INI with the full path name where you
     extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
     Example: C:\DRIVERS\Vista32\IMSM\6AI511WW\2KSETUP.EXE 2KSETUP.INI
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  9. Reboot the system to complete the installation.
